Why hide your online status?
Seeing someone online often creates pressure to reply right away. Hiding it lets you read and answer at your own pace, keeps your daily routine private and avoids awkward moments when you are busy with other people.
The official app does not let you hide the online label while the app is open. GB WhatsApp does, and it combines it with other privacy toggles.
Steps to hide online status
- Open GB WhatsApp and tap the three dot menu.
- Go to the special settings menu (often called GB Settings or Mod settings).
- Open Privacy and Security.
- Find Hide online status and switch it on.
- Optionally pick who it applies to: all contacts, selected contacts or groups.

Freeze last seen keeps your last seen time fixed at a moment you choose. Hide typing and hide recording stop those indicators from appearing in chats. Ghost mode bundles all of these into one switch, together with hidden blue ticks and secret status viewing.
Things to keep in mind
If you never appear online and never show blue ticks, people may guess you are using a mod. Also remember that hiding your status does not stop messages from being delivered, it only changes what others see.
